What is an abdominal surgery?

Abdominal Surgery is defined as surgery pertaining to the contents of the abdominal cavity its walls and orifices. The abdomen, looking at the photo to the right, it starts under your lungs to the lowest part of your groin. It can be the surgical removal of a mass or masses from the abdomen through an abdominal incision, or placing a camera through small incisions with tubes (laparoscopy) to view the organ of concern. Robotic arms can be used also as part of a minimally invasive technique using the da Vinci system.
